Professional Development

Staff development for teachers include staff meetings, presentations, grade level meetings, single and multiple day release time, after school sessions, Saturday classes, and a district-wide pupil free "Professional Development Days" (3 per year). Individual sites also provide staff development opportunities through the School Based Consolidated Program (SBCP).

District and school-organized staff development sessions are based on teacher input through surveys, curriculum adoption cycles, reviewing assessment data, and administrative priorities. Much of the staff development provided by the district is delivered by our own teachers. These teachers develop their expertise through the many standing committees organized in the district and attendance at special seminars and workshops.
